CSY 44' 'Walkover' Cutter - Well Above Average Condition - $99,900

I hate to do it, but the time has come to offer my CSY 44' "Walkover" center cockpit cutter, La Nostra, for sale.
She was built in 1977 and is hull #23.
CSYs are recognized as extremely strong, rugged cruising boats. Although they were designed specifically for use in the Caribbean, they are found all around the world with many trans-oceanic and around-the-world voyages under their belts.
The "Walkover", the most popular design, features a HUGE, safe center cockpit, two completely separate cabins (one at each end of the boat) each with their own head and shower, refrigeration space larger than many homes and outstanding natural ventillation via. 7 opening hatches and no fewer than 19 opening ports made of either bronze or cast stainless steel! The hull and deck are both solid fiberglass with no cores to delaminate or rot - and the hull is virtually bullet proof, much thicker and heavier than those found on today's production boats. (She weighs 36,000 pounds, and that's before filling the 100 gal diesel tank and 400 (yes, 400!) gallon water tanks.)
She features the deep draft (6.5 ft) option and the "short" (approx. 54') rig (best setup for serious cruising).
She is in well-above-average condition.
I have owned her for 10 wonderful years and have made several upgrades and additions over that time. A few upgrades: repowered (by prior owner) in 1997 with new Perkins 4-236, 82 hp diesel (replacing the original 60 hp unit), new Hurth transmission 2006, custom aluminum davits with two Kyocera 80 watt solar panels, KISS wind generator, Lofrans Falkon HD windlass, 60 lb. CQR primary anchor on 200 ft. 3/8 chain plus like-new full-sized Fortress anchor on 20' of chain and 200 ft. 3/4" nylon rode, 2005 10.5 foot AB aluminum hulled inflatable dinghy with 15 HP Yamaha, very robust W-H autopilot installed in 2005, hull painted in 2008, all exterior teak glistening with Cetol topped with Cetol Gloss, gray water sump system 2011, decks repainted w/non-skid 2010. (For a more complete listing visit my website at www.lanostra.net and go to the "Techie" page.)
She is NOT loaded with old, obsolete electronics! I have sailed throughout the southern Caribbean quite happily for years using a hand-held GPS and an Icom VHF plus a hand-held.
She is currently located on the little island of Carriacou, the first island north of the main island of Grenada in the southern Caribbean where I have kept her since 2002. This makes a wondereful place to use as a base if you are in a position to spend winters on board or live aboard full time. If this is not a convenient location for the new owner I will be happy to deliver her (or help deliver her) to any other location in the Caribbean or eastern US. (I am a US Coast Guard licensed 50-ton Captain.)
As an additional plus, I happen to be a part-time associate at a large boating supply chain and can use my employee discount to purchase any new items desired by the new owner at my prices.
I will be on board until mid-May and will take several photos at that time. Meanwhile I do have a few others that are not on the website and will be happy to send them along to any seriously interested parties.
Feel free to PM or e-mail me (harryrezz@earthlink.net) with any questions.

Wish I was in the market for a boat... I'll pass this around to friends. This is one of my all-time favorite boats.

Thanks, Bill. She's one of the great ones! WE love it when we drop the hook in a new anchorage and one of the boat vendors comes along side and says, "Oh, ya mon. CSY .... Strong boat!" They know them well in the islands. She'll be sorely missed.

oooooooooo the CSY walkover is my dream boat as of now! Unfortunately, I won't be in a position to buy for like five more years!

Hope you sell her!

Re: CSY 44' 'Walkover' Cutter - Well Above Average Condition - $99,900

Thanks, Chani - She's a great boat -strong and spacious - and I'll really miss her. Just finished painting the main salon. Got rid of all that out-dated and dark imitation teak panelling that was so popular a few years ago and painted it the more traditional white. Also did the overheads which were sort of a dull cream color. Ever so much brighter now, and as I used a polyurethane enamel on the overheads it will also be much easier to keep clean.
Someone is going to get a great boat.

Re: CSY 44' 'Walkover' Cutter - Well Above Average Condition - $99,900

UPDATE: That evaporator is now in place and working beautifully. Ice cream anyone?
Also just finished painting the overhead in the main salon with Interlux Brightside White to replace the old original cream color. What a difference!
I'm on board for a few more days, so if anyone wants specific pix please let me know ASAP.
Thanks -

Re: CSY 44' 'Walkover' Cutter - Well Above Average Condition - $99,900

I'm getting ready to list La Nostra with a broker who will give her a lot more exposure on multiple websites, but I'd rather sell her directly to the new owners. Here's your opportunity to save yourself about $10,000 in brokerage fees (I'm going to list her higher through a broker to cover costs). Don't miss this great cruising boat!

I'm confused, its 99K now? Then 109K later with a broker? I'm a cash buyer, but not a sucker. Whats the NADA book value anyway?
