Alberg 30

1964 Alberg Alberg 30 sailboat for sale in Maryland

We refit Heron over the last year and a half, and we did major work including but not limited to:

- Completely stripping her of every fastener and fastened item then filling, fairing and reinstalling everything.
- New epoxy bottom hull and topside paint, Kiwi Grip non skid.
- New toe rail.
- New over sized silicon bronze chain plates.
- Brand new opening bronze port lights and dead lights.
- Brand new canvas with a spare dodger included.
- Fully installed and functional cast iron wood stove.
- All new brightwork and hatches.
- Brand new unused suit of sails very good condition existing sails (including spare main).
- Titanium Nitride coated cowl vents (bronze color) on dorade boxes.
- Electrical panel installed but not wired
- bilge pump installed but not wired

She is a fresh clean slate ready for your personal touches and finishing. Fully sail-able right now, she has no battery or wiring yet and does not come with an outboard. the outboard bracket is removable and rated for up to 20 hp.

We currently sail her with oil lamps for light (navigation and interior), and use a small outboard that is not included in the sale. She is in new to excellent condition and completely watertight. All the hard work is done. All offers considered. She turns heads everywhere she goes.

15k obo, Annapolis area

All that excellent work, you have her looking fantastic, now you want to get rid of her. Unless you are going bigger, how could you? She's a credit to you anyway, lucky next owner will put you in his will if he has any ethics.

Well, that's subjective I guess - she doesn't really need anything in order to be sailable and have fun with her right now as is, but if you want an electrical system then that'll need to be wired and batteries installed - the main control panel is installed and the mast is all done (new tinned wire + LEDS), she just needs wiring and a battery. She will also need an outboard (or god forbid an inboard if someone wants to ruin her sparkly clean and dry white bilge).

She is basically a clean slate for someone to personalize with all the fun "stuff" they may want, system wise. All the hard work is done..

Re: Alberg 30

Will someone explain why this boat is offered at only 15K? I know it's old, has no engine, but it looks in great shape. Maybe I have been pricing catamarans for too long-- this one is making me rethink all that.

So... what am I missing? I would very much appreciate your input on this.

We just did the refit over all of 2011 and into spring of 2012, and she is in new to excellent shape. The price reflects that she has no motor, some electrical needs to be installed and finished, and we really want to sell her asap and move on.

There are other minor items that need finishing up, but nothing major. With an installed diesel she'd be at the top of the Alberg market, which seems to top out at about 30+k for the best examples.

Al the hard labor is done, and we are really motivated to sell (hence the great price) - I am really surprised that she hasn't sold yet, but it's only been a month or so since I have had her listed. This really is the deal it appears to be, after two plus years of making this boat our entire lives and existence we now just want out of the boating scene and greatly look forward to doing other things and being free of boat ownership.

The boat's really awesome, and will make someone very happy.
