45' Yacht ruined: parts salvaged for sale

My 45 foot sloop was a total loss after cable broke and the yard dropped the boat from travel lift. A preliminary list of all my salvaged gear follows. I have a whole basement full and it would pay to look at all the tools, parts and spares. There was no water damage to gear. The gear is in Westport, CT and New Rochelle, NY.

Yacht equipment:

-Canvas winter cover and frame (in storage at Fairclough Cover Service)
-Yamaha 9.9 hp electric start, short shaft engine, new and unused, 9.9fmsh, serial number 1017217, built 5/10
-Aquapro 11 foot hypalon and aluminum bottom rib
-3 bladed prop for 80 hp engine, 45 foot sloop
-Suncor stainless 66 pound plow anchor (30 kilos)
-6 person life raft in valise, inspected and re-packed 2013. Still certified for 2014
-stainless anchor connector
-Paratech sea anchor, 8 feet with 300 feet 3/4" line, new
-Inflatable off shore harnesses
-3/8 socket set
-Hathaway storm drogue
-Wheel puller
-Locking winch handles
-Winch handles
-Fenders
-Edson emergency bilge pump on wooden board, with handle
-BIG cooking pot for lobster
-Danforth high tensile 35 pound anchor
-Dinghy repair kit
-Electrical kit
-12 volt mechanic's tool set
-ankorlina, anchor reel with nylon anchor line for mounting on stern rail, ~250 feet
-12 volt power tools
-Force 10 grill, used but excellent
-nylon braid anchor line and chain 5/8 inch
-danforth anchor for dinghy
-anchor line 3/4"
-life vests
-offshore harnesses
-collapsible rolling cart
-dock lines
-Fireboy, clean halon agent, 25 lb, fire extinguisher, manual or automatic, w bulkhead mount
-splicing kit
-Edson step for boarding
-boat poles, hooks
-bronze forestay lever
-sail wind scoop
-forehatch air scoop
-porthole air scoops
-fresh water filter
-sunshade
-etc. !!!!!!

If you have any other questions, please contact me.

Best wishes,
Charles

Charles,
please let me first say I’m sorry for the loss of your vessel. And also, don’t you think you will need these items when you purchase your next vessel?

If that is not the case then the following items are ones in which I might be interested in purchasing though I am in Florida.

-Aquapro 11 foot hypalon and aluminum bottom rib
-Paratech sea anchor, 8 feet with 300 feet 3/4" line, new
-Inflatable off shore harnesses
-Electrical kit
-12 volt mechanic's tool set
-Wheel puller
-life vests
-offshore harnesses
-splicing kit
-sail wind scoop
-forehatch air scoop
-porthole air scoops

Thank you.

What was the name of the boat and do you have a picture of the damage? I read somewhere that boat thieves sometimes break up a boat and sell the parts on the internet. Just asking :-)

Far more important, what was the name of the yard so we can avoid it.

So sorry about your loss. It sounds like an awful experience.

Just asking you say but basically this accuses the poster of being a thief and demands he prove otherwise.

I think prudence would recommend some sort of evidence to indicate a crime before posting something like this.

Agreed. I like how the accuser failed to appreciate the OP basically completely outs his own identity and location as well as provides a serial number for the outboard. I found the OP in a search that took .0053879 seconds.

If you read the OP's past posts he has been at his same marina since 1979. Sounds like a real slick operator. Brilliant work McGruff. Maybe we can all meet up with Chief Wiggums at the donut shop after the crime is solved and pat ourselves on the back. :-)

That's too bad. How deep is it? Lat/lon?

Ha! Yeah I saw that the other day too. Well I took my life in my own hands and actually visited the OP while he was out in Westport photographing his stash. I can say for sure that he is who he says he is and the stuff is for the most part in very good to excellent shape. I bought the sea anchor some line and some other odds and ends and a local friend came by and bought some stuff as well, but there is plenty more available in addition to the stuff at other locations.

FYI, he did get another boat, same model just 13 years newer, really awesome looking boats BTW. New boat just came with a full set of gear and this stuff is the overflow.

Edit: For KDH, the sea anchor I bought is not the drogue, that is a separate item and was still available when I left yesterday. Recommend emailing him since he said that he doesn't like checking PM's from his phone, too much trouble...
