Re: 33FT Cruising Sailboat On A $30k Budget
I have a 1979 CAL39 MKII 5'6" draft, very fast boat and perfect cruiser.
The boat is for sale for $21K
This is not a project boat. But is bigger than what you are looking for. Expect to spend about $5K to do bottom paint, new bearings on the rolling furler, and labor to change the wax packing in the stuffing box.
You can see pictures in this site and in craiglist miami. I am an engineer so very honest on the boat. I had 14 great years with it, but 3 kids, too much work, and pay for their colleges...well I miss leaving for the Bahamas or the Caribbean but I am grounded to the local sailing area. I have a 33 ft catamaran that does this service.
Let me know if you want to look at it or send you additional pictures or movies. You will be pleasently surprised.

Re: 33FT Cruising Sailboat On A $30k Budget
Hello my name is Richard and I might have the perfect boat for you. Its a Morgan 33 . in the last year I have replaced or fixed everything to make here ready for ocean cruising. Divorce .
New standing rigging, new mainsail, Genoa and spinnaker near new. Two working jibs and storm sail. New pumps . Fresh water and macerator plus two bilge. Three anchors and 600 feet of rode. wind vane">Aries wind vane. Custom hard dodger with new solar panels. Windlass and windex replaced. Survival suits (3) offshore vests, new compass. The list goes on and on. Westerbeke diesel with only 2200 hours. She is a 1973 when they built solid boats. 3'11" draft and 11' 10 beam. You will not find a more roomy or stable 33. I've spent over 22k on upgrades and repairs alone. Last August pulled out and bottom painted and seals replaced. I'll let her go for 25k

Re: 33FT Cruising Sailboat On A $30k Budget
Hi Richard again. Some of the things I forgot. Its sloop rigged. Has a roomy quarter berth. Also included Epirb, new flares, 2 vhf handheld and one for boat. GPS, depth, charts. Propane barbecue, flat top stove and oven. Deep sink. Refridge and large ice cooler. 27" TV. New canvas awnings that cover cockpit and foredeck. Manual water maker. Jack lines, dock lines, hanging nets. Lots of spares and tools. Interior is in great shape. Nice cushions and teak and holly. It could use a coat of deck paint

Re: 33FT Cruising Sailboat On A $30k Budget
I have a freshwater, offshore ready, Cape Dory 33 for sale, $29,900.
LaVida is well known on the CDSOA message board and VERY well equipped.
We are only selling her because we purchased a Shearwater 45 Schooner and owning two boats is kinda like having two wives, not a good idea.

You cannot have too many boats.
Sometimes one wife is a wife too many...

Re: 33FT Cruising Sailboat On A $30k Budget
I used to own a Caliber 33 which satisfies all your criteria. I sailed mine from the Chesapeake to St. Vincent and back, and to Bermuda and up and down the coast. Unlikely to find one repowered for 30k but they are solid boats.

Re: 33FT Cruising Sailboat On A $30k Budget
I just posted a video on my CAL39 in YOUTUBE, it shows every corner of the boat, now at $20,000 in Miami Florida. Is a solid boat, NO soft spots, NO blisters, but is a lot of boat. 39 ft 11'inches long and 12 ft wide.
Check it out or search 1979 CAL39MKII
