I did chase replacement cylinders and found some that look like they would work but probably require some modification. That's when I decided to try a little harder to save the original one. I'll keep maintaining this one until it dies completely, then worry about it.

I have found a possible replacement lock in the uk made of stainless http://www.seascrew.com/browse.cfm?S...0001015http:// but not having the dimensions of the original 'Select' lock with me and not visiting until next spring I cannot compare. I contacted them to confirm that the lock would fit a 10mm thick perspex door which they have. My feeling is that the lock is bigger than the original so had tentatively planned to make a new stainless escutcheon plate to fit on the outside which would hide the old fixing and lock cylinder holes. It looks a bit more robust than the original.

If anyone has the dimensions/sketch of the original part I would be grateful.

The Mister Minute Kiosk at Australia Fair Southport did ours. He just had a quick look at our bent old original and said "ah boat key, no sweat". He had the blanks in stock and had the spares made in five seconds flat.
