Standard 100 for electronic charts.

Does anyone is thinking of looking into the future for implementing the standard 100 for electronic chart? This would result in alterring the soundings on the charts in function with the real value according to tide level as you go along your routing. Also, if new soundings are available, it would correct the charts more rapidely (say 2days after the soundings were done). I suggested that 30 years ago and it is still to come.

From the first paper: first products (Charts) envisaged for end of 2022 and portrayal mandatory for ECDIS from 2024 on. These wil be "dual fuel" ECDIS as S-57 is here to stay far beyond of this date.


I would expect the first S-100 charts to be twins of the S-57 material, as they will be based on the same data bases and in the most cases will not contain dynamic data.


We shall take into account that not even all chart material right now has been 100% edited and released as S-57 vector charts.
