Re: OpenCPN Version 5.7.1 Alpha Test #2

Hi Steve,

it works in the "normal" 5.7.1 alfa version.

But not in the flatpak 5.7.1 versions.

Tried this on my AMD64 Linux Mint and on my RPI4 with Ubuntu OS Kinetic.

This is the outcome:
bram-L480:~$ flatpak info --show-permissions org.opencpn.OpenCPN/x86_64/beta
[Context]
shared=network;
sockets=x11;pulseaudio;
devices=all;
filesystems=home;
bram@bram-L480:~$

With RPI of course aarch64/beta
It seems to be a flatpak problem.

I'am still very content with the working of the Canable for NMEA2000 2 way connection. But with initalition string (Candlelight firmware)

Regards,

Bram

Re: OpenCPN Version 5.7.1 Alpha Test #2

As the old adage goes "You can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink"

I would expect to see something similar to this
Code:
[Context]
shared=network;
sockets=x11;pulseaudio;
devices=all;
features=canbus;
filesystems=home;
Let me refresh your memory from another thread.

Puzzled as to why this PR hasn't propagated to these alpha builds. Alec, Dave ?

The last 2 versions are really unstable if you try to make route with many waypoints. (Windows Architecture).

As soon as I was trying to make roundings the program was going way wild and ending off. That was went making a route through a Norwegian Fjiord from Jamaica. I can not send you the log file, I have deleted it. Sorry.

Re: OpenCPN Version 5.7.1 Alpha Test #2

I made a route from Norway circumnavigating -Panama-NZ-Canaries. No "wild" seen. But I'm using latest master code if that's a difference. You may want to test again on next test version?

Re: OpenCPN Version 5.7.1 Alpha Test #2

DSC/DSE position reports are being ignored?

This worked before ... below N183 sentences should paint a green square with MMSI in Nuku Hiva / Marquesas / French Polynesia. The MMSI should also appear in the AIS target list.

Code:
$CDDSC,20,3673088900,08,21,26,3085514006,2015,,,S,E*62
$CDDSE,1,1,A,3673088900,00,02553384*12
Currently none of that happens. Besides position reports from other ships, this regression likely inhibits display of emergency distress calls / position.

With git commit 536cde7cd9928f82f095b22d7d66467dba776c61 above works again. Merci!
