OpenCPN Mac OS Crashes When Creating Long Routes

Hello!

I'm really hoping some one can help me with this. Every time I create a route long enough for the software to ask me if I want to plot the Great Circle instead of the rhumb line, it crashes on me. I reinstalled the software, and then I was able to plot one Great Circle route. Then when I tried to plot a second Great Circle route, it crashed on me again. I looked in the log file and there didn't appear to be any errors. Please help me, this is driving me nuts.

Thank You!

Man it's frustration isn't it? It was working perfectly for a few days, then it started crashing every time I tried to make a great circle route. I was really hoping I wouldn't have to buy MacECN.

aewing...
We are sorry to make you iPeople frustrated, it's plain unintentional. The GC routing is turned off on Mac in the 3.3 betas as a workaround for now, until we have a better fix. And the performance on OS X is by orders of magnitudes better, give it a try.

Thank you so much for the reply Pavel. OpenCPN is truly an extraordinary piece of open source software. One of my favorites I've come across. Much thanks to you for that. My frustration is not with you developers. I was thinking it was problems with my system because it was working perfectly for several days, then started crashing.

I'll try the beta. Thanks for the tip!

Thanks Pavel,
I've just downloaded the beta 3.3 and the problem is solved. I can live without great circles for the next year or so.
