So sorry ... I certainly will not buy this appli !

2) for 15€ I bought a very recent chart of West Europe (when a small part of mediterranean would be enough) running in the free app of Navionics, app built to work on tablet instead to be adapted more or less well from a project made to run on platforms of very different use

Maybe that for 1 € (max 3) ... ?

If all the problems of memory(ies ?) and caches are resolved (point 1 above)
If, finally, the menu bar can leaves place to the chart

SMOX, we are listening. Your report has been very helpful! Are you willing to work with us to get the Android version better?

I have noticed item #1 and I believe that is due to chartdwnlder trying to configure when things aren't configured yet.


When we think this is working better would you be willing to try it out again and report back?



The developers have been working very hard to get to this point, and one of the goals is to have opencpn working very smoothly under android.

I'm OK to help
but
it is not so easy for me :
- knowing OpenCPN 3.2 (Mac OS 10, Windows 7 or Navigatrix)
- missing practice of english
- not too much familiarized with Android environment
- posting from my Mac, so having to
1) test on my android tablet
2) make captures
3) retrieve and mail the captures
4) got the mails on my Mac
5) try to attach the captures to my post (at this time the Attach button doesn't work)

I think that in my tablet I have captures(*) showing the different writing paths in Options between the tabs 'Charts/Files' and 'Charts/ChartDL'

(*) not yet shared by mail

I got too the zebra screen that is not easy to reproduce (I know nothing about electronic but I suspect something about gestion of memory in the graphic card, leak of memory as in IE ? memory not discharged after the use of another app ?)

Nope ! (I think/believe)

I think I have finish to play with that plugin and that now all is well configured and ...
once(*) opening OA ... gasp ! zebra !
close OA and go to the Android desk with last opened applis to delete OA and the other appli I have used before,
play few minutes with Solitaire and close + delete it
Open OA ... this time : Ol Korrect !!!

(*) at least twice (and same solution without rebooting)

I will try to find time to see if all is so well configured about that chart DL as I told it is.

Just downloaded Opencpn for Android on a Google Nexus 10 tablet running latest Android 5.1.1 (latest for this tablet). One thing I can't get to happen is OTG for the cm93 charts. As my tablet is short of space, it would be ideal to be able to access the charts via a USB stick connected as OTG. Any idea if this is implemented or will be implemented?

Opencpn version running is 4.1.1028
