Nice, It gets me thinking more about the box now. Box could be clear, probably will not need to IPV6 or anything as it will be at the Nav station, but it should contain everything: Booster, Switch, RPI3, etc., Memory card could just remain in there, not removeable, and we would just download the data via wifi or usb.

As I understand it, the RPI3 has a bus of 20mb/s.

It seems like its best to get a Sandisk Evo+ Class 10 UHC1 that is Micros SDHC (mid range capacity, fat32 format) instead of Micro SDXC (higher capacity, exfat format) which limits me to 32gb SDHC instead of 64gb SHXC.

I can get the 64gb EVO+ SHXC for about $2 less, but I don't know if RPI3 supports exfat!

Does anyone know?

So now I am confused. Does RPI3 support exFAT?
I suppose I could take a 645GB SDXC card and reformat it to FAT32 but that would be silly.

Found the $189 pretty steep for the recorder, but perhaps not if you are not a DIY. I like the format and what it does. I would like to find out if it is just a straight nmea0183 data stream, (compatible with OpenCPN). -I think it is.

I think this website would be useful to others because of its devices and will put it in the Sup Hardware section.
