Missing tick OpnCPN WiFi from Vesper XB 8000

Hi,

I've read the directions and looked at two videos, but data from my Vesper WiFi is not showing up in the NEMA debug window. Must be missing something...

Screenshot shows the setup and the NEMA window is blank.

Thanks for your help.

Re: Missing tick OpnCPN WiFi from Vesper XB 8000

Is your Vesper XB8000 configured as a WiFi Access Point or as a WiFi client ?

If the former
  • Is your PC connected to the correct WiFi network ?
  • Have you altered any of the default settings on the XB8000 (ie. IP Address, Port Number) ?
  • From a command prompt can you "ping 192.168.15.1" and receive a reply from the XB8000?
If the latter:
  • Is your PC and XB8000 connected to the same WiFi Network?
  • Have you determined the IP address that the XB8000 is using or has been assigned using the vmAIS Configuration Utility?
  • Can you ping the XB8000 using the address it has been assigned?
  • Finally, is your XB8000 being used on a vessel, where you are indeed receiving data, or are you just testing this at home, where you may not actually be receiving any data?

Re: Missing tick OpnCPN WiFi from Vesper XB 8000

Stevead,

I am doing this while on the boat.

I did not change any Vesper defaults. However, I see I need to check out your excellent suggestions, which I expect will find the issue.

Thanks,

Armand

Would not let the keyboard work...however, if vmAIS works...I figure must be connected to it. Utility showed all the info I entered some years ago.

Thanks,

Armand
