Re: Missing s-63 cells

We seem to be looking for this cell: https://hydro.gov.au/webapps/jsp/cha...chart=AU424150

Do you actually have it? And if you do, any mention of it in the log?

Re: Missing s-63 cells

Sorry I missed your reply, I didn't realise there was a page button.

I agree, that is the chart in question here. My understanding of how the AusENC licences work, all charts are part of the package, but the licence only allows to open certain cells.

The licence does cover this chart.

Re: Missing s-63 cells

Have a look if the cell permits for the cells are in place.

Re: Missing s-63 cells

I found the page, and the AU424150 cell. When I click on it, Import cell permits, Remove permits, and Import charts/Updates are all available.

I click on Import Cell Permits which them sends me to a screen with the permit.txt file.

Which now says subscription has now expired as expected.

The fact the cell has the Permit.txt file, it was loaded?

Re: Missing s-63 cells

If the cell permit is in place, next is to install the cells or charts themselves.
Activate the log.

The order of the transfer sets is important: first the base set and then the update set.
You will need the old sets from the time when you licensed the S-63 charts as an actual set will not install cells with an expired cell permit.

(The Australian oeSENC or oeEVC charts have the same information, the same update period and are based on the same S-57 cells from AHS btw.)

Re: Missing s-63 cells

1. I tried to load this particular cell individually in the past ie when the licence was still active. It didn't appear to make any difference.

2. So, if I reload the sets again, it will load?
It won't crash because the licence has expired?

3. I honestly have no idea what the last thing you wrote means. What are oeSENC /oeEVC charts?

Am I wasting.my money buying AusENC charts, I can get the same standard for free?

Re: Missing s-63 cells

ps. Thank.you so much for all your help.

I cannot.convey the extreme level of frustration OpenCPN causes.

I do not believe I have ever used anything as confusing as this.

o-charts.org is a source for licensed charts for OpenCPN. A part of OpenCPN.
Just have a look. Those charts are not free but as economical as we can offer.

Re: Missing s-63 cells

Good morning (not sure where you are, but it is morning here)

So, not really breakthroughs but I have managed to find a away to make screen shots.

First up here are a few of the cells I can see or have found are missing. It appears to be completely random.

Re: Missing s-63 cells

Second, my partner noticed the file locations for the chart files are different and may be one of the reasons for the 'can't find enc root file' error message.

Re: Missing s-63 cells

Your chart file tab leaves me head scratching...

S-63 cells can only be installed via the import from the cell import/update tab of the S-63 plug-in.
You cannot just point OpenCPN to the files.

As result of the import you get then the entry you are highlighting.

Please delete all the other chart files entries.

Next import first the base set (enc_root....) and then the update set.
The source files - the base set and the update sets - have to stay in the place you installed from. So don't use a DVD or USB stick for install and remove it later.

Re: Missing s-63 cells

Righto.

So, can/should I remove all the files from the s-63 page, start from scratch and load the enc-root, then the latest updates?

These will load even tho the subscription has lapsed?
