Largest scale Aus charts

Hi,
Could someone please advise which Australia charts to purchase from O charts that largest scale available? The charts we have (Aus Vector) don't show anything after port entrance's or upstream, e.g S.E Queensland broadwater isn't shown until you get to Moreton Bay, just an example.
Thanks in advance.

Well scale is a relative matter.

Perhaps the Australia centered Universal Corrective Map of the World by Stuart McArthur's of Melbourne, Australia may be a proper scale to initiate your collection.

NOTE TO AUS/NZ customers:
You can order this map directly from Stuart McArthur at - McArthur Maps, 208 Queens Parade, North Fitzroy, 3068, Australia; Phone: 61 431555908; or email: stuartmcarthur@hotmail.com

Re: Largest scale Aus charts

Maybe I should have been a bit more specific, I am looking for electronic charts for Opencpn.

Cheers Rod

Not that relative!

A chart that provides a lot of detail for a small area is a large scale chart. A chart that covers a vast area and provides little detail is a small scale chart. Remember: large scale - small area, small scale - large area.

Re: Largest scale Aus charts

When I purchased the Australian Vector Charts from O Charts recently there is only one set of vector charts for EU 35. I could be wrong, but I think that is all that is available. I have noticed better detail on my Navionic and C-Maps charts, but for EU 35 I’m not complaining.

If you need better detail one option would be iNavX on an ipad.

Re: Largest scale Aus charts

The AHS set is what it is and we know about the lack of coverage for some places being important for locals.

For West Australia we expect to add additional charts to the oeEVC/oeSENC set in the near future. The local authorities are working on new issues of their large scale charts for the leisure sailor. These chart will be electronic charts.

Hopefully some other Australian State will follow that example - the information is there, the different sources just do not join their individual resources.

Re: Largest scale Aus charts

We run Cmap on a dedicated marine plotter as well as opencpn/cm93, both on 23 inch monitors.
Open cpn has become our primary plotter, the Cmap runs alongside running in case there may be something extra.

For the few areas where we have found Cmap or navionics to have more detail we have done easily toggled mbtile Cmap and navionics overlays using GE2KAP and SAS planet
