Rick,
Your post is contradictory. you quote the OP saying that they have a SkyPro160 Bluetooth and then link them to specific instructions for a BU-353.
Do you have two posts mixed up.

Moo,
now you mixed up macOS operating system and Windows operating system.
The OP has macOS. Outgoing anf Incomung ports for a Bluetooth device is typically for Windows and not for macOS.

Obviously you don't want to understand. You do NOT see 2 ports (Incoming and Outgoing) with macOS. So there is no question to need or not to need.

Translated into a user readable language it means: thank you for your corrections. Indeed I have no knowledge about how a Mac works and have learned something new now.

Re: How to get GPS Position

Moo, I understand your point. but no, not really.

We have not written instructions for every gps device. Some of the concepts should be applicable the his Bluetooth device, apart from making the actual bluetooth connection. Opencpn still has to be configured

GPS still not recognized. here is a screenshot of my settings. I have other programs such as Fungawi that receive the GPS data just fine.

Re: How to get GPS Position

Why have you selected Garmin input protocol. Surely it's not a Garmin GPS?

Have you tried it without Garmin and without input filtering?

I have also the Dual XGPS160 SkyPro. It is one of the best devices with up to 10 Hz, GPS and Glonass.
Do you have paired this device with your computer?
The key for pairing is 0000 or 1234.
If you still have problems ask cs@dualav.com or 866-382-5476.
Reading its manual will help also.

Re: How to get GPS Position

Gpscharts..

you might erase that entry from the connections and try from zero:

- try both ports (3 and 4) each with its own entry (in- and outgoing BT is sometimes named from the opposite side..)

- don't use any filters

- try then different baud rates

(you are completely sure that no other program is using the ports at the same time?)

Re: How to get GPS Position

BTW the Dual XGPS160 SkyPro is able to connect to up to 5 different devices at the same time and send data to all of them, e.g. to your laptop, your cellphone, your tablet and so on. Never seen any other Bluetooth GPS with such a feature.

Re: How to get GPS Position

After I verify my connection with Fugawi I always reboot the computer to assure there is no link to the com port. I removed the gps from windows and then reinstalled but did not make any difference.
