Re: Heel and Pitch

Moo,

thank you, you cost me an evening
I was running 0.8.0 downloaded alpha 0.10 and am now waiting to update to 11.7 .....what a chore.
But, thank you for the explanation, it's the first time I've seen it laid out in a way I hopefully can follow and possibly learn from.

Gordmay, thank you for the welcome, I've browsed these forums for a couple years now, but now as I'm getting closer to a large cruiser, I figured I'd actually join. this RPI3/openplotter has so much potential but the learning curve for me at least is really steep.

When you are in the add NMEA 0183 sentence screen.

Click "Transducer data value" and select type as "Expression"

Fill in "vessel", "group" and "key" as normal

Then from the drop-down list choose "*"

in the next box enter 100

choose the format usually "x.x"

And you done.

Re: Heel and Pitch

Moo, can't thank you enough, I don't understand why the documentation is so poor on some aspects of openplotter, but I'm very happy you answered my call
Now, the funny units, RADS, radian
1 radian=57.29 degrees, change your "*100" to "*57.29" and you will get much more accuracy I think.

You've no idea how happy I am seeing this finally come to life!

Your welcome. Have you looked on the forum at the Openplotter site? There is a lot of useful info there.

Quite right about Radian. Same as for heading - but for some reason I was having a brain fart and didn't associate roll and pitch with Radians

I think the lack of documentation puts a lot of people off Openplotter which is a pity. Not having the docs certainly increases the gradient of the learning curve. I have quite a large word document with a bunch of stuff in ready to contribute to the documentation when I tidy it up a bit.

I'm looking forward to getting my teeth into Node Red and setting up some dashboards for my meteo and engine temp sensors now.
