Garmin Route Transfer

First of all I love the Garmin transfer. Don't know why I did not try it sooner.

I noticed one thing, when the transfer happens the names get cut off to 6 characters. Is this normal?

I believe it is a limitation on the Garmin's side - at least my last (ancient) Garmin was not able to have longer names. Don't know if it's still true with their new units though. Anyway we should probably still support the least common feature set.

Thank you for the info. I thought it might have to do with older units, just was not sure. The transfer works great. O is a lot easier to make a route in than my Garmin 540.

If anyone is interested I have the pin out for a Garmin 400/500 series unit.
