Garmin GPSMap 76Cx with Mac

I'm sure this has been asked, but darned if I can find it! Been searching for ages too

Has anyone successfully got their GPSMap 76Cx to talk to OpenCPN on the Mac?

I can do it on the Netbook... but am getting no love from the Mac. I've downloaded the latest Garmin firmware, a couple of thirdparty 'communicators' even tried installing some other Garmin Mac software to see if I could at least see the GPS show "CONNECTED" when looking at the Interface Set-Up page.

Would love to hear of someone who has done it

OK, has anyone got *any* GPS to work on a Mac and 'talking' to OpenCPN? I have been having folks here in La Paz ask me this question a lot.

I run OpenCPN on my Mac successfully as a way to view charts, but use my Netbook as my 'plotter' hooked up to my Garmin - as I don't really want to take my more expensive MacBook Pro into the cockpit all the time - so the reality is I never have NEEDED to hook up the Mac version of Open CPN to a GPS.
