After many tries, I finally got OpenCpn to work on my Mac with CM93 charts. I played around with it for a week and it worked great, then I plugged in my GPS, BAM! the screen went crazy, looked like a Dali painting and my computer locked up. I uninstalled Opencpn and tried again. Now I get solid black charts with blue outlines. What's going on?
Someone asked me about my log? don't know what that means.
Without your log file it's very hard to guess your problem.
Follow these instructions. Upload your logfile to this thread. Change the name to opencpn.log.doc before trying. This is just to bypass a quirk in the forum software.

Ok, I did that and got the address of my file but When I tried it, said can't find that address, check spelling. I checked 5 times. I went back to opencpn and all I'm getting is that black screen and tool bar but it locks up my computer and won't do anything.
The Terminal is a command line tool which among other things lets you see the actual files on your disc, not just the "user friendly" censored view that the Finder gives you. But if you don't know what it is it's not going be a good way.
