B&G H2000 NMEA FFD -> OpenCPN

Hi,

I have a Furuno GP-31 providing GPS data to a H2000 Hydra B&G Network. An NMEA Out from the NMEA-FFD into a wifi bridge works well and I can access NMEA data via OpenCPN, IOS apps etc.

The problem I have is the GPS signal being transmitted appears to be an old format (NMEA 1.5??)

$IIGLL,3350.583,S,15112.013,E,,*6E

It matches the B&G FFD manual so I know that the B&G is outputting the right sentence but it seems to be missing both the time and status fields. I am guessing OpenCPN is unhappy with the 'invalid' GPS fix and discards.

Does anyone have any ideas on a fix for this? have I missed a trick or am I stuck due to old hardware.

Thanks,
Alex
