android import route can not change to download directory

Android Galaxy Tab A8
Android version 11
OpenCPN version 5.6.2 [94]
OpenCPN and charts on internal storage.

I exported a route (.gpx) from OpenCPN 5.6.0 on Windows and downloaded it to my tablet. It is sitting in the downloads directory.

When I "Route->Import GPX" it brings up a file selector with the current directory set to:
/storage/emulated/0/Android/data/org.opencpn.opencpn/files

I can select ".." to go up one level, but it does not give me the choice to go up another level. Is there a way to navigate to the "Download" directory or to anywhere outside of the org.opencpn.opencpn directory?

I have enabled media file access in android settings->App->OpenCPN

I have successfully exported a track. When I do this the current directory is set to the Download directory and it successfully exports it to that directory.

This is the screenshot for route import:

Re: android import route can not change to download directory

New version of OPENCPN cannot access downloads or other folders. A workaround for charts (Chart Migration) now included. Not so for files such as gpx.

Use an Android file manager program or connect to PC to move gpx file to appropriate opencpn folder. I used a sdcard to deal with this.

PITA, but apparently not the fault of OpenCPN foljs.

Thanks sv_pelagia.
Good to know. I can stop searching forum posts and trying tapping on everything on the screen.

Re: android import route can not change to download directory

Just as a follow-up, for anyone else that hits this problem.
I installed X-plore file manager to get access to the protected folders,
created an "imports" folder in /storage/emulated/0/Android/data/org.opencpn.opencpn,
and copied the files I wanted to import into that folder.

OpenCPN routes->import can access those files and import works.
