AIS Question

With no GPS connection I can position my boat icon at the pontoon where i berth I often do this to stop the GPS wander on screen I can do this in SeaClear and in OpenCPN. With AIS enabled and receving targets SeaClear gives me the range and bearing to the target. In OpenCPN I do not get this I just get unavailable for range and bearing. Is this normal behaviour for OpenCPN. Yes you mays ask why i would like to avoid collisions whist on a pontoon Bear with me i just do OK Its nice to see friends approaching within VHF range.

regards
