Welcome to OpenCPN and this Forum.
If you need "detox" to fix filenames you have to install it yourself.
This should be as simple as writing
Code:
 sudo apt-get install detox
on the command line. Hit enter and then your password.

It's a secret hat we don't tell win users
OK then....
It's there right in front of you!
Just write "detox" on a command line and hit enter.
There is no graphical interface, just you and the command line.
Write "man detox" to get instructions/help. Hit "q" to get out of this mode.
If you want to know where on the computer the detox program is installed, write "which detox". But you don't need this information at all.

I still have no idea what your real problem is.
What are you trying to do, that is not covered in the man page or the page on opencpn.org, where you probably found out about detox to start with??
