2.1.0 Bug Discussion

Tmercs are not working in 2.1.0. See this post in the old beta thread.
In 2.1.0 all NZ "tmercs" seems to be renamed "mercs" in the info box , this seems to prevent a crash. Unfortunately this does not solve the problem, as opencpn still hangs, and no chart is shown. The thumbnail for tmercs, works though.

Thomas...

I don't know how this bug slipped off my list. Simple fix, problem caused by fixing the "UNKNOWN" projection problem of OEM.

Sigh....
New code in CVS. Need to rebuild database to pick up change.

Please check this fix on your build.

I will collect a few small bugs (I hope) and do an inplace update of the Release on sourceforge.

Yes, the tmercs are displayed now, but....

The tmercs are still marked as mercs in the infobox, and they are not marked in the task bar as tmercs.
Example the tmerc in the middle below NZ5412_1.kap has
Quote:
PR=TRANSVERSE MERCATOR
but infobox says mercator.
As you can see, we are back to the old behaviour where tmercs participate in the quilt .......with a black "frame".
I know this must be a PITA for you, but just hang in there, the rest i so b....y good!

I looked at the newest version and it's pretty nice I have to admit. I played with the MOB button, but can't seem to figure out how to cancel it. Any ideas?

Also, what happened to the anchor icon at the top bar?

OH never mind, I accidently hit the right mouse button and chose to delete mark and it went away. I even looked in the help menu under MOB and it didn't say anything in there about that. MNaybe someone could add that line of text.

I did not rebuild the chart database.
Seems OK now!

Hello. I wasn't online latest days (I was in France for work and then I had to fight with the air traffic control strike...).

I saw a new official OCPN release. Great.

I installed latest 624a and I saw TMERC quilt is enabled again. Unfortunately the georeferentiation out of the center of screen in such mode is wrong (the usual old bug: there is a E/W georef error that grows while getting far from center of screen).

Please disable TMERC quilting or correct this bug.

Ciao, Marco.

Sorry to hear . But after several month with crashes it's just a completely new experience to run OCPN stable and without crashes for several days now.

Life seems optimistic and full of bright opportunities again...

sorry for the complaint,

but have the impression that zooming in-and out and moving the map became a lot slower. (on my old cf-28/800mhz toughbook , and also on my 1,73ghz pentium-m.) maybe there is a handbrake to loosen or are there just to many functions now ? I work with cm93-2010 .

took me quite a long time to make a route with about 90 waypoints because of waiting for the map to move or to zoom

If you check the first few posts in this thread, you will see that I had the same problem, after Daves latest fix. This was resolved by forcing a chart database rebuild in the chart tab. I would be surprised if this isn't working for you as well.
Tmercs works as expected for me now.

Please try turning off chart outlines and see if the speed increases.

We had a request to show more cm93 outlines. This slowed things down a bit. Next version, we are going to cache cm93 outlines, so that the performance will be snappier.

Thanks
Dave

Your right Thomas. Rebuilding database worked. Maybe a force rebuilding should be automatically set whenever you install a new OCPN version...

Great Job!

Ciao, Marco.
