Your port spreader is broken indicating the starboard shroud took a good hit on that boat it fell towards.

Sorry for your luck running out. I assume you have a stated value policy. Most likely the boat will be a total loss. We lost a boat insured with Boat U S (Progressive) due to a grounding incident. We brought the boat to one of their approved boatyards and got a repair estimate of 25% of the stated value of the policy. Progressive refused the repair estimate and instead totaled the boat and promptly paid us 100%. Good luck

When they totaled the boat were you able to remove things like anchors, stoves, whisker poles and even the engine, etc?

Irma Knocked Our Dream Off Stands a Week After Purchase

We received the information from BoatUS. There was only $10k estimated damage, and half of that was depreciated or deductible. So...I’m planning to head to St. Augustine to be a true DIYer. But...I’d love to hire a consultant. Any recommendations near Xynides in St. Augustine?

Thank you!!

Would you be willing to give more details as to this 10K along with the depreciation etc. ? Did you just accept this or did you dispute this by getting another survey?

Did you have your surveyor survey the boat again? Simply comparing the adjusters report to the one they already completed is NOT the same as resurveying the boat.

This is your one chance to be made whole. It's also critical from a safety perspective that you have as thorough an assessment as possible if the boats condition.

Not sure on a consultant but I have seen some very nice work come out of Oasis next door to Xynides.

Xnides can be a a good place for true do it yourself, but be aware of sur-charges for outside assistance...I would second the suggestion for Oasis
Boat Yard.. quality work from them and/ or do it yourself. We were based in St. Aug. for 13 years and used both.
