VHF radio streams and database

Does anyone know if the Coast Guard transcribes messages from channel 16? I have contacted their R&D division but that could take some time.

Or of any databases of VHF audio, preferably also with transcriptions?

You can probably guess what I am up to... trying to train transcription models on marine conversations to see if i might make the dream come true: a VHF audio to text on LCD display, with various other great features (if the base model works, that's the tough part)

I've heard VHF recordings of incidents involving the CG. I highly doubt they're just 'rolling tape' 24 x 7 for the 85,000 miles of coastline in the US.

I'd assume that their system is recording into a buffer, then once they key their mic to respond, the preceding minutes prior are stored along with their responses. This is similar to how vehicle cams work. They either flush the buffer or commit to disk based on an event or action.
