Suggestions for a cracked lens on a VHF??

I have an ICOM IC-M72 handheld waterproof VHF that has a crack going about half way across the clear plastic window that covers the dislay.

To send it in for repairs at ICOM is $100-125. It's not it worth it for a <$200 radio.

Does anyone know of a plasic cement or specific tape that would work for this? I'm using it in small boats and frequently getting it wet.

In the past I've fixed displays similar to this by cutting a piece of thin clear plastic the same size and using epoxy glue on the edges to fasten it on top of the display.

waterproof silicon in tube; colorless; but you'll need a special pistol to press

well maybe a drop of super glue, which will wick in to the crack

or they sell plastic sheet in walmart for covering camera, cell phone etc screens. it is elf addesive

edit or send it to me and i will fix it for free, but then it might ( will ) get lost in return shipping... sorry no insuance ;-)

Use the acrylic from an auto parts store that is used to repair cracks in windshields.
