SSB Installation

I have previously asked some questions regarding the "counterpoise" requirements for that SSB. I came to the conclusion that, the best installation would be to use a thru hull for a direct "sea connection".
I have found that I also have a reasonable amount of surface area available to me in some aft lockers that I did not consider before.
Would it be practical to, in addition to, the thru hull connection, spread a copper screen on the interior hull surface in these lockers, in order to increase the counterpoise? I am refering to the type of "mesh" that is used to create a RF screen.

Thanks for the replys, both before and now........

Yes, it would be practical, however, the better question is whether it would be worth it. This is largely a matter of opinion. The ground loss would be reduced with a larger counterpoise but the improvement in signal strength could also be minimal. If your current setup is performing satisfactorily to you and you have only a subjective basis by which to reach that conclusion, you may not notice any improvement extending the counterpoise.
In other words, there is no definitive answer.
