simple instructions for radar to opencpn please

I have not been able to find a thread dealing with simple to understand details of how to install a low cost radar to an opnecpn equipped laptop. Maybe there is one but it was lost in the clutter.


Has anyone out there actually done this and is willing to help me and others along. I am not totally ignorant. I built my boat and installed all electronics, motors, etc but I am not game to buy a radar assuming I will learn as I go.


I prefer cable connection for power and signal.


If there is a current, existing thread that addresses all this with a minimum of jargon, I would appreciate a heads up.
