SGC 230 Antenna Tunner

I am swapping my SGC 2000 SSB for an Icon 802
Can I still use my SGC 230 Tunner with the Icon?

The SGC 230 tuner has worked fine on my Icom 718 ham radio. The 230 tunes from the actual output of the radio so should work with any radio. It cured a problem I had with the radio not wanting send the proprietary tuning signal to the Icom tuner.
