Seeking practical radar repair

I have a Furuno radar that failed last year and as I suspected was diagnosed as a dead magnetron, even though the hours logged was half its expected life.
A new magnetron is $900 in Australia for this small uncomplicated looking component and I am curious if anyone on this forum knows if these things can be repaired.
Many years ago I saw cheap Chinese made replacements for magnetrons. Does anyone know if these are still available?

Re: Seeking practical radar repair

If not replacing the magnetron part, why not a full radome on ebay. Used, fully functioning domes seem to be going for 1/2 what you were quoted for the part.

Re: Seeking practical radar repair

Certainly a cheaper option but no way to see how many hours (if any) might be left in the replacement before parting with the money.
