RS35 and Wx

This has to be the stupidest question! How do you tune the RS35 to a Wx channel? I actually got Simrad to replace my RS35 on warranty because I couldn't get it to tune to any Wx channel. But the new one is exactly the same! Both have v2.91 (latest) software. The manual says: For US models: in USA and Canadian waters, press <Wx> to hear the most recently selected weather station. The WX symbol is displayed on the LCD. Rotate the dial or +/- on the handset mic to change to a different channel.

When I press Wx, I get a tone, and the WX symbol is NOT displayed, and the channel remains at the current channel. Changing the channel with dial or +/- results in a new VHF channel, but not a Wx channel.

Can someone tell me how such a simple this is done?
