Replace old S2 with a new S2G AST

Long story short, have an existing Raymarine Autopilot with S2 course computer, ST6002 head and peripherals.
Can I do a straight swap with a new unused S2G AST course computer?

If already covered, can someone point me to it?
Cheers, Rufduck

Ask raymarine on the tech help / contact form, they are quite quick at responding to this type of question.

The short answer is yes I can replace it straight across the board and keep everything else as is per Joel @ Raymarine help and I take back nearly every bad thought I had about Raymarine. Cheers

If you are doing that just to get the gyro option you are wasting your time. I have an S3G and it steers no better that the old Autohelm 6000 that it replaced. I understand that the newer gyro autopilots are much better. The gyro in that series of autopilot was IMO a con job.
