Raymarine ACU Circuit Diagram

Does anyone have a circuit diagram for Raymarine ACU 200, 300 or 400?

Just fitted a ACU 200

What do you need to know. The connections are self evident , (a) battery , (b) rudder sensor , (c) output to drive clutch (d) output to drive motor , sea talk dropper ( to EV1 and control head and option to power Seatalkng from the ACU

All these connectors are clearly marked on the pcb of the ACU.

The raymarine manual is on line also

I have access to the manuals, but non of them have the electronic circuit diagram, only the ACU connections.

What I need to identify is the circuit board test location for the H Bridge MOSFET drivers, this is essentially the same for ACU 200,300 and 400..

Have you a problem. Surely you need a circuit diagram then

To locate the gate of the H is easy if you find the part numbers of the IC

I have access to the circuit diagrams but my NDA forbids me saying anything

Yes indeed RM want you to pay 395USD for Remanufactured ACU200 and almost twice for ACU400.

We OK, up and running with a spare ACU200 that I repaired.

My original ACU400 that has a ' no drive' detected error message, if and only if the rudder sensor does not see movement....

If you command a change of direction and rotate the wheel the ACU thinks its doing the job.. No error message.

Meaning the clutch is not even being engaged as you can rotate the wheel... And if you do rotate the wheel manually whilst autopilot is engaged it see the manually input movement as doing its job

I need to determine if its an issue with the H Bridges or processor that is commanding them..

The power rails are all active and correct.

As a now spare.. I would like to get the No Drive detected ACU400 functional at reasonable cost, even if I have to hack the tail end H Drives and Clutch.

Have you verified thd drive and clutch signals Are present on thd output of the ACU without the drive or clutch connected.

The installatio and drive works with the ACU200....



The ACU 400 has no output to linear drive or the clutch.



It is active in as much as it talks to the evolution processer and display... It knows the rudder movement etc.

To answer your question, there was no out put with drive connect... No clutch or actuator power..



Without the clutch connect likewise, and similarly with or without the drive connected whilst givingcorrect feedback by manually turning the wheel (to avoid no drive detected error)

Unusual that both have failed doesn’t seem correct. The H drive is fully protected and short circuit protected. Not easy to blow up in my experience.

When you engage auto you should get clutch output immediately , as long as the AP is configured for clutch

Then press +10 and yuh should get drive output , no need to move the wheel as the “ no drive “ error is on a timeout.

And if you fool the ACU into thinking its working.. The No Drive error doesn't appear..

Anyway it points to the processor upstream of the H Bridge and Clutch circuits..

Few models get external power supply for drive system . This model , powered through internal supply ?

Are you saying the drive to the motors never appears. This would suggest the H bridge has failed or the gate driver has failed.

I can make a request to see if I can share the schematic with you.

It’s unlikely to be a processor.

Hi,

I am having some problems with my autopilot and need some help! Here is what is happening:
I have a newish 2018 Raymarine autopilot with a hydraulic linear drive, currently it stopped working and upon investigating found that the hydraulic motor for drive was completely burnt up. I have found someone to help source me with a new motor but my question now is with the ACU. I have a Raymarine ACU 400 that is currently getting 12V in however the output to the drive motor is only around 6-7 V. I called Raymarine and they said that was faulty and needed to be sent to Raymarine for repair. Does anyone have any experience with low output our if ACU? I’m not sure if the low output burnt the hydraulic motor as it requires a direct 12V.
