NMEA Reader
On occasion I have to get into tight or awkward spaces to read NMEA sentences.

Is there a digital multimeter type of device that could do this for me? Dragging a laptop into places like this sometimes is not practical.

Does Fluke have something like this? I really like their stuff. Price is not that much of an issue. (Work is paying for it)

serial cables cables can be ~300 feet long... no need to drag laptop around. just get longer cable

More seriously (practically), a Bluetooth serial dongle with a small tablet running a serial terminal program.
