ICS Marine Kit For Telit Globalstar SAT550

I have a disused Telit SAT550 satellite phone on my boat, which I am un-installing.


It has a marine kit docking station with separate handset.



The docking station has TWO coax connections, both LMR-400, one marked with a black square, and the other with a red circle. I have the user's manual for this, but nothing about these coax connections.


ONE of these is connected to a Globalstar external antenna on my pushpit. The other disappears and I haven't managed to trace it.


Anybody have one of these? Knows what this is?


This phone is dual purpose -- sat phone plus 900mhz GMS phone.. I presume the second cable is for the mobile phone external antenna which does not seem to have been installed.


Amusingly, the two LMR-400 cables are both marked, in English and French "DO NOT CUT OR REMOVE".


Anyone have any insight? I rather hate to be pulling this equipment out -- the gear plus professional installation will have cost the original owner of my boat many thousands. But I'm never going to use Globalstar, which has no coverage at high latitudes.
