Expedition and OpenCPN on the Same Box?

Anybody see a problem running Expedition and OpenCPN on the same box?

OpenCPN speaks 0183 and is connected to the boat network via the Ethernet port of a Zeus plotter.

Expedition speaks N2K and will be connected to the boat network via an NGT-1.

No conflict there?

And for bonus points: Does anyone know whether you can use the same OSenc charts registered to the box, in both O and Expedition?

I run both concurrently on laptop and have no conflict or performance issues.
You can deselect certain outputs if there is conflict in both software platforms.
It can get tricky if you send routes to a chartplotter.

oeSENC and oeRNC charts are only for OpenCPN or apps using the OpenCPN core and o-charts plug-ins.
Think o-charts as a part of OpenCPN - just a different entity for legal reasons.

I use the AUS ENC charts in both OpenCPN and Expedition. I had to enable S63 on OpenCPN and an O-charts fingerprint/permit.

S-63 is a different topic. Even in this case you will need two different S-63 UserPermits and two licenses for the official charts from AHS.
The UserPermits are specific for the different platforms. Different S-63 OEMs in IHO speak.

If you run the corresponding oeSENC charts for Australia you have the same content as in S-63.
At a lower cost.

Correct, I have 2 x permit files for each platform.
The OESENC charts would be great if could use in Expedition, however cannot so then limited to the AUSENC or would have to purchase CMAP.
