Dockhead,

Are you sure you are running the most recent update of the radar software? If you are not 100% sure, you should check. B&G MARPA was a pathetic joke until a (fairly) recent major update. It now works quite well.

I'll check. Thanks for the tip. I updated it a few years ago but stopped checking as Navico don't even support my plotters anymore

Hey Dockhead, did you manage to sort out your marpa setup? I've read your comments earlier this year while selecting components for my boat, and still ended up with a similar Lowrance 3G + Airmar GH2183, so far it's very stable and certainly accurate enough for OpenCPN's arpa implementation... only downside was that Airmar is a bit of a pita to calibrate, took me 4 attempts over an hour or so, but then you only need to do it once.

Just curious, how did it go for you?
