Re: CELL PHONE extend range

Very new here, but from Australia and I happen to be in the industry and recently wrote a blog post about this

https://wirelesscoverage.com.au/mobile-booster/

Boats can be a challenging environment as often when we talk about repeaters/boosters

The legalities vary country to country, in AU, NZ and USA there are a variety of options, not sure entirely where you are from so cant provide specific advice.

The challenge in a marine environment is two fold:

- Isolation: Between your receive antenna and your servicing antenna, you cant just have the antenna next to each other, so for example you can have an antenna on the roof and a serving antenna in the cabin or quarters which will provide some level of isolation allowing the repeater to boost

- Bearing of Donor antenna: Since the boat moves around its not always facing the same way. Depending on your intend you may be able to set up a permanent bearing based on when you will be moored assuming you have a consistent position. If you are more interested in extending signal while you are out you may go with an omni antenna on the rooftop, but they will decrease the effectiveness of the solution

Hope this helps you a bit!
