Best all round marine radio system

Can anyone recommend a VHF, SSB, AIS radio with a handheld mic for use on the bridge?

OK, I'll bite.

You are not going to find one radio that does all of the above. If by handheld mic, you mean a remote mic for use above decks while the main radio is below, I know of no SSB with that feature. As far as VHF, several manufacturers have units with a remote mic option as well as intergal AIS options. I've got the standard horizon with AIS and a remote mic that works very well.

I like SH too.

Yaesu is the same make and they make excellent SSB.

BUT, as noted above, a remote handheld for SSB may be a bit more difficult to find.

ALSO SH handhelds are, I think, all wired.
