Recommendation: My Old Man and the Sea

If you are a member of BoatUS, and a second or third generation sailor, you may want to read Christopher Buckley's article entitled "My Old Man and the Sea" in the Boat/US September/October issue. It is a funny, touching tribute to his father William F. Buckley, very well-written, and illustrative of their sailing adventures together.

All of you who learned sailing or boating from your father - you second or third or more generation sailors will appreciate it. Will bring tears to your eyes...

It inspired me to add "Airborne" to my winter reading list.

True, David Hayes and Daniel Hayes wrote an excellent book with the same name about their voyage around Cape Horn in a Vertue 25...
