Keith I think you will have a problem solo for a start with any insurance + they want to know the boat is sea worthy to start with = survey. As I wrote there must have been a reason and there was.

Yes, meyermm, that is the case.
Looks like I have just bought a 36' steel cutter rigged sloop in Langkawi, subject to inspection. So I will get a survey and I will be sailing with a crew this time and will check pantaneous again for hull insurance. Only cost 31K eruos, so far!?

The documents with my quote says that they cover solo sailors, suggest you get in contact with them perhaps there is another reason.

These guys are my favourite/only Insusrer's...... solo sailors covered out to 200miles offshore... this allows for things like a Biscay crossing or Island hopping but do not apply for trans-ocean...

Oh OK, they do seem very good my delivery skipper has used them for years and recommended them to me.
I wonder if they will insure my racing Etchells LOL, probably not.
