Re: cockpit cushions. If I am reading your criteria info correctly, did you say you are cruising for 6-7 months only, one time? Or do you mean 6-7 every year?
I ask because I spent $1k re-upholstering existing cockpit cushions on a 28' I had only one yr, a newbie mistake. Where now on a boat much bigger and nicer I just repurpose big household pillows where I added a grommet in the corner to tether it to a lifeline so it doesn't go flying. i mean these are pretty cheap
pillows, ive left them out in the sun for days, they lasted two years!!! And for the seat bottoms I repurposed some old marine
back rest cushions. All together, they are way more comfy then thin, hard cockpit style. It is the only mismatched thing onboard. But I put up with it since otherwise it would be $1-$2 boat bucks.
Just thought id throw that out there in case you are on a budget.
