Insurance Companies Make No Sense

I currently have insurance that allows me to be in Florida, the Gulf of Mexico, and the Bahamas DURING hurricane season. Now I want to go the the Dominican Republic and spend hurricane season in Luperon, that has NEVER have a hurricane hit, and the insurance company “can’t” provide coverage for this. Yet to me me this seems soooooo much less risk than spending the hurricane season right in the Gulf of Mexico in the hurricane zone that I did this year.

And some question why I don’t include the boat as an asset. It’s because I need to figure I can just lose it and be ok financially.

Re: Insurance Companies Make No Sense

Not that it really makes sense, but the cost of recovery and repair in the DR is far higher than in the US.
Your US policy probably has fairly large named storm deductible.

After a few weeks in the DR the actuarial tables will be clearer for you.

Not to say don't go, but don't take more than you're willing to lose
