Excellent Chain Company

I ordered and paid in advance for 120 Meters of chain from Ketten Wälder in Germany. We had an agreed to ship by date they couldn't meet owing to the supply issues that plague most companies these days; so through no fault of their own. Because it wouldn't arrive in time I needed to cancel the order which I did by email. Subsequently I received a call from the owner of the company apologizing for not being able to meet my schedule. He offered that not only would my entire payment be refunded immediately but that they would make the chain and set it aside until I knew where I could receive it. I declined that generous offer because it didn't seem fair but sure enough the funds showed up a few days later. Now that is some fantastic customer service.

Re: Excellent Chain Company

Certainly there are some completely useless companies, so it's very nice to hear about the good ones too

Then there are the companies that are prepared to go above and beyond

I've normally had very good experiences with German companies. Many of the medium sized companies are family owned and pride themselves on doing the right thing by both their staff and their customers. They are in for the long haul, not for short term profits.

https://www.ketten-waelder.de/en/company/history seems to be one of those:

"Family-owned and run since 1948. Transparency, honesty, reliability, trust and sustainability have been the fundamental values underpinning our company’s culture from the very beginning, and are reflected in the way we treat our customers, our mutual respect for fellow employees and in the quality of all our products."
