EU VAT when visiting overseas territories

I have a Polish registered boat with VAT not paid as I don't plan to take it to the EU, but I'm wondering if I'd have to pay VAT in order to temporarily bring the boat into, say, Aruba, which is an oversea territory of a EU member state? Does anybody in a similar situation to mine has first hand experience?

From my reading of https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Euro...alue_added_tax I'd expect VAT wouldn't have to be paid as Aruba has opted out of the VAT area, but I'd like to triple check that somehow.

It's outside the EU VAT area and there's no need to pay VAT even if you are an EU resident.
