Glad you enjoyed it. I suppose we could start but then either have to go back and date all of the entries, and there are a lot, or start dating them and that might be more confusing. The post are from the most current and the prior ones are in order with the newest on top. In addition if you look at the lists on the left column the posts are numbered in order. So that might help even more than a date. They are also listed in order of posting under the Archives according to dates.

When were you in Vero? We were coming back from the Bahamas and grabbed a mooring at the City Marina sometime around the 29th-ish of June. My wife said she thinks she remembers your boat. We love it there. It's nice having the free bus ride into town. Actually stayed there a couple days prior to heading to the Bahamas while getting the boat ready for our crossing in early June. We usually take one of the first moorings when you come in, which is closer to the bridge, since we find it has less no-see-ums in the summer. But you still get 'em out there as well. Thank God for AC. It's also a short dinghy ride to the Riverside Cafe for lunch/dinner and some live entertainment or across the channel to Jack Bakers Lobster Shanty. The winters are fine (no bugs) but the moorings get packed with the snow birds coming down for season. Sometimes they pack three to a mooring.

It must be very edgy going up the ICW with a 6 ft draft. We came back with a buddy that drew 6 ft and he was always on his toes - either out there in the Bahamas or back home in the ICW.

Those manatees in Titusville are something else, eh? It's an awesome location to watch a Shuttle Launch. A couple weeks ago they had a crane fall off a barge and sink inside that marina. Kind of a mess trying to contain the diesel spill.

And lastly, where's Fairyland? I guess you said it was somewhere between Vero and Titusville. That's where our home port is (Dragon Point, Indian Harbour Beach/Melbourne) but never heard of Fairyland..,

I enjoyed your journal. Happy Sails!

we were in Vero on July 8th. We have done the ICW 10 or 12 times now and we don't get too concerned with draft except in Georgia where we are now and even there, we find only a few stretches we need to play the tides. Fairyland is just south of Cocoa. we were in a slip just behind where that barge was working in Titusville and it went over at about that spot. We were gone by then.

Chuck,
I have been following your web site and reading your posts to this site. One question; did you solve your engine problem? I am not sure if the last repair worked. Thanks

George, So far so good. we replaced the FW tank/exhaust manifold unit, ouch the most expensive part on the engine, and we have motored about 100 miles up the ICW and it seems to be OK. From what we can determine the exhaust had a pin hole in it that allowed exhaust to slightly pressurize the FW tank and force the coolant into the expansion tank. we saw some corrosion inside the exhaust manifold, from where we could not tell, but suspect that was the problem area. The hole was just small enough to not allow the coolant to enter the manifold. We are a bit behind on posting but will update in a day or so. we are currently in Kilkenny Creek Georgia waiting for this weather system to pass through probably tonight and tomorrow.
