If it has an advantage at all the improved flexibility will be appreciated by who ever installs it. It depends on how much you need. we had two Y valves one for the macerator and one for the tank. It meant you could
pump overboar, or through the macerator or to the tank. It takes extra hose to be setup that way.
We redid ours last year. It's a job you might do once and give up
boating if you had to do it a second time (or pay to have it done). The warranty says I think 6 years but you can get way more than 10 if you flush well and don't let stuff sit in the hoses a long time.
