We were long-time users of MinWax. But, formulas change. We've found it's not what it used to be.
Another consideration is your time - it takes a LOT of
work to
varnish. Use the best product for your
project.
Exterior: We switched from
Interlux Perfection to Awlwood. Awlwood is certainly easier to apply than the 2 part Perfection. But it's looking like our older Perfection is doing better than our newer Awlwood.
Interior: Epifanes is the choice of most. For wear places like our
cabin sole, we are using Daly's Profin. It's what
Hunter used to use when they had real
wood on the floors. It's insanely easy to apply, it can be hot coated, it flows really well, it's
cheap, it can be recoated quickly if it wears, and most importantly, it has nonslip properties when wet.
