3m 5200 shoe repair. unbelievable!!

I've got a pair of Blundstones that I've destroyed by kicking a hatch open over and over to check the steering gear on my boat. The sole has completely come away from the leather. A couple of weeks ago I tried glueing them together with 5200 and I've got to say I am crazy impressed. They are now water tight again and feel tougher than when I originally bought them. Stuff is amazing.

🤣 That's great! I don't know why we didn't think of that last week when my husband was looking for glue for the soles of his sneakers. For the record, Shoe Goo didn't work.

5200 can even be used to patch dinghy’s, I’ve fixed all sorts of things over the years with 5200.

Would it not be better to have also put it on the inside of the sneakers as well, this would solve the problem of him wandering off after just undoing the laces.

I have used 5200 quite a few times (especially when one could buy it at Home Depot for like $10 a tube) to fix blown out Birkenstock sandals….like footbed back onto the cork, etc. Awesome stuff!

The chemists at 3M probably had no idea of the number of uses that ingenious people would find for their "miracle-in-a-tube"
I used it ~5 years ago to repair/build-up a chunked-out tire on a Delta bandsaw.
Still going strong.

I re-soled my hiking boots (9 y.o.) using regular Laminex/Formica adhesive. (3) good treks later and seems perfect.
