Try going to the site, The Sea Is Salt and clicking on the E-book either in the post or in the right hand column. I just tried it and it works.

This is a pdf file and not an "E-book" in the sense you need a Kindle to read it. You do not. It is best just to download the file and print it out.

This worked for me earlier.. but... now it is failing....

I bet he took it off because of the liability of posting medicinal material on the internet. And the course he took was most likely copywrited. Heck, I have to be very careful of what I say here, and I have tons of insurance...

I tried it again and it works for me. I am confused as why some people can download it and others can't. Perhaps it is a browser issue. Try using Chrome or Firefox.

I had a 404 too with just clicking, but tamicatana's lower link worked.

Thanks alot for making this available. It should be on every boater's e-book, tablet or laptop.

One small suggestion - it would be helpful if you could make your table of content chapter titles clickable, and duplicate the book's table of contents as PDF bookmarks.

A couple of years back I attended the day-long ASA Safety at Sea seminar. The medical section was short but brutal; it was hilarious how many big strong guys had to leave the room.

Re: Offshore Emergency Medicine: Yes, the course and book are copyrighted. But, I don't have a problem with Derek publishing his interpretation in a form that might be useful to someone. Please be aware that the photos in Derek's pdf are not from the course or book and may be somebody else's copyrighted work.

Be safe out there, but not so safe that you don't come back with some good stories.
